Olympian & National Record Holders Join Jamaicans at VA Showcase

Sprints Preview

The biggest of the sprint events will be the girls and boys 300m dashes. Both look to be solid races for the national record to get beat by not just one athlete but by at least two. Sydney McLaughlin and Tyrese Cooper are just next level athletes. They have set national record after national record and it seems this could actually be their strongest event. With this meet coming just after the new years it could be a fast one.

Meet management is finalizing some other top entries in this event to push these athletes very hard for these records. Some of the athletes who might attend are not rabbits, they are contenders as they have run 51.3 for girls 400m and sub 21 for boys 200.

The 55 and 500 will also be very stacked and competitive. With a lower level of bank, the 500 should be one of the fastest in the nation this year depending on which athletes double back for this event. Bethel's Edward Richardson III burst onto the scene last year and ran a national class record 1:05.72 on a flat track and could put on an even bigger show on the bank this year.
