SALEM, Va. - In the inaugural meet at the brand new Roanoke College, the 1A/2A athletes truly stepped up to another level. Taking home the ultimate honors were Maggie Walker's girls team and Auburn's boys team. Wilson Memorial finished as the runners-up in the girls' competition with Prince Edward taking those honors in the boys'.

The story of the meet though was Auburn finally completing that trophy cabinet and dethroning Maggie Walker for the combined state title. The story within the story though was two Auburn boys (Caleb Hallinan & Tyler Wilson) literally colliding in the 1K. That collision caused Wilson to fall back from second to seventh and could seriously have cost them the title. They turned that around though and did what they had to in the 3200 and 4x4.
It should be noted too that Maggie Walker finished a very respectable third place without Ryan Buscaglia, their best runner and a good vaulter, even competing.
Prince Edward's Bryan Moses took home some huge points and also helped lead their 4x200 to the win.
