MileStat Outdoor Season Insight

Unlike indoor season where there are limited venues, outdoor season has a plethora of great venues that play host to the many invitationals in a given year. Here are some of the biggest and best invites we are looking forward to this year.

April

April is the time of some major meets in Virginia. Though there will be only a few mega-meets during the outdoor season, there will be quite a few heavy hitters when it comes to producing great performances. The biggest of these being the Lee-Davis Invitational.

If you're looking for something smaller though the James River Invite (roughly 20 teams) will be your best bet. And if you're looking for something right in between, NSU's High School Invitational will be the place for you.

Stealing the show up north this season will be the NOVA Invite, LB HOF Invite, and Chantilly's XBC meet each on different weekends in April.

It should be noted that CNU, William & Mary, and Tucker's Tiger Classic are also included on this list but are this weekend and thus registration is already closed.

May

April is the month of many meets while May is the month of serious meets. Starting this month off strong will be the Cosmopolitan Invite and Dogwood Track Classic which both will be so star-studded that people would rather watch them instead of the Kentucky Derby.

Closing the regular season out strong the following weekend will be a trifecta of strong meets you should bring your team to. These three are the Glen Allen Invite, Grassfield Invite, and Victor Cahoon Invite. All three will be moderate sized meets and really a great place to throw down that strong performance heading into the post-season.

June

Aside from the obvious state championships, New Balance Outdoor Nationals is a must attend. It will once again be held at NC A&T University which is a whole lot closer and more affordable than attending indoor nationals.
