The Big Question Is Which Event Will Britton Really Run at Dogwood

Britton Wilson is a superstar in our sport and not just Virginia. In fact, she holds the sophomore national record in the 400 meaning she is on pace to be one of the fastest 400m runners ever in the US. That all may be true but she has yet to win a state title.

Standing between her and those state titles are two Team War (Nansemond River) athletes, Syaira Richardson and Kori Carter. She will face both of these ladies and US #2 Lauren Hoffman (Battlefield) this weekend in what could be an epic race or a historic double.

She is entered in both the 400 and 300H but as the title says, will she attack both races or just focus on one?

First up for Britton will be the 400 against Amira Aduma, Malika Pride, Alahna Sabbakan, Kasey Ebb, and Syaira Richardson. This matchup is notable considering Syaira Richardson holds the state outdoor record at 53.38 but Wilson actually enters with a 53.25! That's right, her indoor time actually outpaces the outdoor state record.

The was last year though. Though Richardson may not show all her cards, it is finally May and there is no doubt she will be ready to run 53 or faster for the win. This race will be tough and Britton better be ready to run because a state record could be on the line.

Just moments later, either rested or tired, Britton may toe the line in the 300H. Believe it or not but this race could actually be more stacked and tougher to win. Seeded in this race will be US #2 (400H) Lauren Hoffman and fellow sophomore Kori Carter. Both of these ladies have 42 speed in the intermediate hurdles and will be pushing closer to that sub 42 and maybe sub 41 time. The time to watch for both Carter and Wilson is 42.19 which is the sophomore state record.

Whether it is in the 400 or the 300H, it is going to be a big meet for Britton Wilson and her superstar competitors.
