Due To Injury, Brandon McGorty's High School Career Is Over And He's Out Of NBNO

Chantilly (Va.) High graduate and Stanford signee Brandon McGorty has pulled out of the seeded 800m at New Balance Nationals Outdoor due to injury.

This injury unfortunately comes at the worst time and has thus ended his high school career. Brandon suffered this hamstring tear while anchoring Chantilly's (XBC) Swedish medley relay team.

Despite the injury and pulling up the final 30-40m, Brandon still managed to split 47.62 and help his team place just outside of the top 10. He said the injury occurred just before the finish of the race and could not get any push-off from the leg.

Brandon then met with a trainer, consulted with his coaches, and waited until Saturday morning to make the final call.

Brandon was slated to compete in the 800m seeded section Sunday in a bid to win his first individual national title. He will be leaving Greensboro today, Saturday, and headed back to NoVa
