With Their Star Runner Back, St. Jago Looking For Redemption at VA Showcase

After finishing third last year behind Western Branch (1:37.09) and Bullis (1:37.62) the girls from St. Jago are back on the attack this indoor season. Brushing off that indoor track learning experience the girls started their redemption at the 2017 Penn Relays. There they went 3:36 and 44.53 to finish second in both races. In those races they blasted past both Branch and Bullis and never looked back.

This January they will look to continue that dominance at the VA Showcase where they will field both 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams. Teams that return six of the eight legs from last year. The two new legs Coach Keilando Goburn said are two suitable replacements.

Their main US competition will once again come from the powerhouses of Bullis, Western Branch, and Nansemond River who combined have won nine out of the last 10 national sprint titles both indoors and outdoors. Bullis may have the strongest team on paper but Nansemond River is the defending champ from Nationals while Branch has the defending Showcase championship team.

Buckle up for January 19th and 20th because two national records will definitely be on the chopping block at The VA Showcase.

The VA Showcase will be streamed live by FloTrack!
