The Heritage (Leesburg) alum and New Mexico standout is at it again. Just weeks after finishing 7th in the NCAA XC Championships, Weini Kelati put together one of her most impressive races ever. She blazed a 15:37 on the track at Boston University for a third place finish.
Weini ran 16:08 in a solo effort two years ago in high school for the New Balance Indoor title. At the time it was a US high school national record. Read more about that record run here.
Her performance ranks around 20th all-time for the NCAA. The winner of this race, Karissa Schweizer (Missouri), went 15:17.31 for the win in what is now the NCAA's #6 all-time performance indoors. Second place was NCAA XC Champion Ednah Kurgat (New Mexico) in 15:19.03. That performance ranks NCAA #7 all-time.
