Episcopal Took The Team Approach To States & It Worked!

For those that say track is an individual sport, you should check out what Episcopal did this past weekend at the VISAA State Track Championships. In the five relays which they competed they finished first, first, second, second, and third. That team approach helped them finish 5th in the girls team scores and 7th in the boys.

The girls nearly stole the whole show after the won the 4x800 and 4x200m relays. They finished second though in the 4x400 but were still very close to completing the sweep. The boys from Episcopal finished second in the 4x400 and third in the 4x200 amongst some tough competition.

Though Episcopal did not win the outright team title, they are doing what other major programs such as Western Branch, Nansemond River, or Bullis do. They chose to train and run as a team and in the long run many would say that winning a relay state title will be something you remember and cherish more than an individual state title.
