18 Things To Look For During The VA Outdoor Track Season #12

Don't listen to anyone who says Virginia is in a down year on the girls' distance side. Yes, we lost Kate Murphy, Libby Davidson, Rachel McArthur, and Weini Kelati but still have some very strong young athletes. One of them is our focus here as one of the most anticipated athletes of the outdoor season, that of course is Saint Catherine's Hannah Ballowe

This multiple time state champion has quickly made a name for herself in all distances 400-5K. Her speciality though seems to be in the 800 and 1K. She battled off and on illnesses during the indoor season but was still able to run a quick 2:58 just off of her PR.

This outdoor season though she looks better than ever as she begins her quest to break 2:10. She ran 2:11 last year at Dogwood and this year is shooting for even faster. The real question though is when and where will she get the competition.

You can almost certainly expect to see her running in all the big races this year and many events at states as she attempts to be one of the most prolific runners in our state's history.
