Region II Championships: Louisa County boys, Potomac Falls girls

Louisa County boys and Potomac Falls girls claimed Region II titles on Wednesday at Louisa County High School. The Louisa County boys, 2009 indoor state champions in Group AA,  keyed off the individual performances by Tyler Jackson and Andre Hunter with Jackson sprinting to first place finishes in the 100 and 200 meter dash, while Hunter claimed an individual title in the long jump and a second place in the triple jump.

Christina Lee led the charge for the Potomac Falls girls as she doubled with wins in the 160 and 800 meter races as well as running a leg on the second place 4x800 meter relay. The 1600 meter race was an epic finish between three with Lee at 5:11.30, Mattie Webb of Western Albemarle in second at 5:11.46, and Julie Strange of Loudoun County in third at 5:11.76.
