One of the biggest meets in central Virginia all year is the Charles B Gordon Invitational. Though usually run at Freeman, this year's version will be at Glen Allen high school. That is where some big names will be opening up their season in some events and others will continue their impressive performances.
The deepest race of the weekend could be the boys' 3200 with nine guys entered faster than 10 minutes. They will then also be joined in the distance races by some big names such as Kameron Helminger (Atlee - 800), Mary Caroline Heinen (Maggie Walker - 1600), and VISAA superstar Hannah Ballowe (St Catherine's - 800).
In the sprint races we will see Glen Allen's Star Price open her 400m season and Manchester's Hanna Wynter attempting the 1-2 sprint double. Britton Wilson will be in the hurdles.
In the field events we will see Cason Gardner in the HJ, Titiana Marsh in the TJ, Gabrielle Holiday in the shot and disc and then two very great pole vaulters in the vault. Those two vaulters are Will Chapman (Atlee) and Gennifer Hirata (Stafford).
