Western Branch's New Head Coaches Announced

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The administration at Western Branch high school has announced the hiring of Yolanda Golden and Ryan Carroll as the head coaches for track and cross country. Coach Golden will take over the helm of both track programs for indoors and outdoors while Coach Carroll will oversee the cross country program.

Both have been a part of the program for over three years as assistant coaches to Claude Toukene.

Yolanda is an Ohio native who was formerly the head coach at Hampton Christian prior to her assistant coach position at Branch. She was a collegiate runner for Tennessee State and spent time under the coaching of Olympian Wilma Rudolph.

Ryan is a Western Branch alum and has been coaching the Bruins' distance squad for close to a decade. He will continue to train and coach the distance runners during the track season and will now be the head cross country coach.
