Information About the Boo Williams Sportsplex

1. Take I-64E
2. Take exit 261B for Hampton Roads Center Parkway E
3. Merge onto Hampton Roads Center Parkway and cross Armistead Avenue to enter the Boo Williams Sportsplex parking lot.



For people traveling from Suffolk, Chesapeake
1. Take I-664 North toward Newport News
2. Merge onto I-64 West via exit 1A on the left toward Williamsburg/Richmond
3. Merge onto VA-134 N/Magruder Blvd, via exit 262B toward NASA/Poquoson
4. Turn Right on Hardy Cash Drive
5. Turn Left on Coliseum Drive
6. Merge Right onto Hampton Roads Center Parkway and cross Armistead Avenue to enter the Boo Williams Sportsplex parking lot



For people traveling from Norfolk, VA Beach
1. Begin on I-64 West toward Hampton/Richmond
2. Merge onto VA-134 North/Magruder Blvd via exit 262B toward NASA/Poquoson
3. Turn Right onto Hardy Cash Drive
4. Turn Left onto Coliseum Drive
5. Merge Right onto Hampton Roads Center Parkway and cross Armistead Avenue to enter the Boo Williams Sportsplex parking lot.



FACILITY: The Boo Williams Sportsplex is a 200 meter poured polyurethane surface. 1/4 inch Pyramid Spikes only. No pin or Christmas tree spikes are allowed. Any athlete using spikes other than the 1/4" pyramid spikes will be disqualified. The triple jump, pole pole vault, and high jump runways are poured poly. The long jump runway is raised wood with rolled poly surface. A three turn stagger will be used in the 4x2 relay.



SEATING: Approximately 110 with portable bleachers. The portable bleachers will be reserved for coaches and athletes. They are located in the northeast corner of the Howard White Pavillion.



TEAM AREAS: Although there is more seating at the Williams Sportsplex than at George Mason, there is [b]no lounging space for teams in the Howard White Pavilion[/b]. Across the hall from the White Pavilion is the State Farm Pavilion where each region will have designated team spaces. The same procedure that is used at Nike Indoor Nationals and the Liberty Mega Meet will be in place. Do not leave your possessions unattended. To repeat: All team lounging areas will be in the State Farm Pavilion.

 

Spikes are to be worn in the competition area only.



Concessions will be sold in the food court, located between the White and State Farm Pavilions.



Martin Screen Printing will have tee-shirts on sale.

 

Packet pick up will be in the multi-purpose room, available at 10:00 am on Friday, February 27th.

 

In each packet, there will be two coaches bands per school that will allow coaches into the designated area in the infield. All other coaches will have to user their coaches pass to enter the Sportsplex or make arrangements with their home school for admission.

 

There will be no coaches boxes, only the designated infield area. No athletes, video equipment, coolers or chairs allowed inside the designated area.

 

Clerking will be done in the adjacent gym. Large screen projection of the meet will be available in that gym.

 

Bring poles in lower doors. Vault and high jump starting heights will be determined by strength of qualifying fields.

 

Vaulters weights will be confirmed in lower storage room. Shots will be certified in lower storage room. All competitors will need their number to certify.

 

Relay cards must be completed by time of check-in.

 

There will be coaches boxes. Please remind your coaches that no rulebook recommends coaches boxes.
