4X800-Meter Relay Posts IC4A Qualifying Time at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – VMI's men's 4X800-meter relay team posted an IC4A qualifying time Saturday, as the Keydets took part in the final day of the 2010 Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.

The team of Ermin Mujezinovic (1:56.1), Dean Gonsalves (1:54.2), Ian McGinn (1:56.1) and Felix Kitur (1:48.8) posted a time of 7:35.73 to finish 11th in the collegiate section of the event, which was won by Army. The Keydets finished ahead of such programs as Liberty, Navy, Boston College and Wake Forest with the 11th-place effort.

Chad Lawson was also in action on the final day of competition, as he took part in the college section of the hammer throw. The junior placed 24th, with a best throw of 50.32 meters (165'1”).

VMI track and field will return to action Sunday, as the Keydets send a contingent to a meet being held at High Point University in High Point, N.C. Action will get underway at 5 p.m.
