NSIC Day Three: Virginia Highlights

NEW YORK, NY -- The Lake Braddock track squad concluded an excellent weekend for the Bruins as they picked up two additional All-American honors on Sunday to finish the meet with a total of five All-American performances. The Lake Braddock girls\' 4x800 meter relay (9:17.83) posted the state\'s fastest time of the season en route to a national runner-up finish in New York.


The Lake Braddock distance girls closed out a sensational weekend in the distance relays with a national runner-up finish in the 4x800 meter relay on Sunday. After earning All-American honors on Friday in the distance medley relay with a fourth place finish, the Lady Bruins picked up their second such honor with the fastest time in the state this season with their 9:17.83 clocking. Comprising the relay squad for Lake Braddock were Michelle Presley (2:20.xx split), Kelsey Snowden (2:15.xx), Katie Rudesheim (2:21.xx), and Erin Klein (2:19.xx). Snowden and Klein also ran respectable times in their individual events with Snowden finishing 18th overall in the 800 meter run (2:17.66) and Klein taking a 14th place finish in the two mile run (11:21.01).

Lake Braddock\'s David Jones earned All-American status in the pentathlon as he racked up a point total of 3568 in the multi-event.

Kharya Brown who recently transferred to Brooke Point High School, finished just out of All-American honors in both finals of the 60 and 200 meter dashes with finishes of seventh (7.67) and eighth (24.58) respectively.

The Manchester girls would have earned All-American honors with such a time at the Nike Indoor Nationals, but they happened to be competing in the sprinter loaded National Scholastic Indoor Championships as they finished 10th overall in the 4x200 meter relay with a season best time of 1:42.40.
