WINCHESTER, VA -- Two of AA's best distance runners, Fauquier's Sarah Bowman (AA #1 ranked) and Warren County's Emily Harrison (AA #2 ranked) did battle in Winchester as it was Bowman who turned out to be the victor today with her stellar time of 19:06 on the challenging John Handley home course over Harrison, who was clocked at 19:38. John Handley girls looked impressive in winning at their home invitational with three runners in the top seven for a team score of 71. Sherando's Ryan Foster (pictured left) won the boy's race by a fair margin with his time of 16:42. The James Wood boys with a pack of four taking places three through seven, dominated the team battle with 39 points as the next closest challenger was Loudoun County with 100 points as the field included ranked or previously ranked teams such as Loudoun County, Sherando, and Fort Defiance.
