William & Mary Men Race on Second Day of IC4A Championships

4x800m Relay Advances to Finals

PRINCETON, NJ - William and Mary men's track and field competed Saturday on the second day of the IC4A Outdoor Championships. The Tribe currently sits in fifth in the team standings with 25 points as Liberty and Rutgers share the lead with 36 points each. Points are awarded to the top-eight finishers in each event, who receive All-East honors. The prestigious meet, hosted by Princeton, attracts a large field of teams from across the Eastern U. S. and represents the last opportunity for athletes to set NCAA qualification times

In today's action, the Tribe's 4x800m relay of sophomore Matt Warco (McMurray, PA), freshman David Groff (Centreville, VA), junior Matt Wolak (Richmond, VA) and junior Sean Anastasia-Murphy (Gloucester, MA) qualified out of prelims for Sunday's finals of the event. The quartet clocked a 7:31.68 to be seeded fourth in tomorrow's nine-team final, only sixth-tenths off the leading seed time. In today's 1,500m prelims, senior Bill Tarantino (Woodbridge, VA) clocked a sharp 3:51.86, just one tenth shy of a personal record he set last week, to claim 19th in the race.

The IC4A Championships conclude Sunday.
