RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth sophomores Davion Lambert (Richmond, Va.), pictured, and James Frierson (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs) will look to qualify for the NCAA Championships at this weekend's NCAA Track and Field East Region in Manhattan, N.Y.
Frierson, VCU's fastest sprinter, will run in the 400m after posting an automatic qualifying time of 46.99. The event will begin Friday at 5:15 p.m.
Those that finish in the top eight will advance to the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif., June 8-11.
