LEXINGTON, Va. - A handful of Keydet track and field athletes will be in action Friday, taking part in the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. The meet is set to get underway at 4 p.m. The meet can be followed via live results on flashresults.com.

Jenna Moye is the lone female currently scheduled to compete for VMI, as she will take part in the first event of the day, the women's 3,000-meter run. Moye comes off a strong season-opening meet in early December, where she broke the VMI record in the mile and claimed the event title at the Northeastern Invitational. Friday, she will compete against a field that includes several noted runners from the University of Virginia, Big South Cross Country Champion Jennifer Klugh of Liberty and Klugh's teammate Hailey Neal, expected to be one of Moye's rivals in several events during the indoor campaign.

The Keydets will also send a contingent of men to Blacksburg, including Ermin Mujezinovic, who won the men's mile at the Northeastern Invitational in December. The senior will run the 3,000-meters, while teammates Jason Thorpe and Marshall Dalessandro will run the mile, set to go off at 7:40 p.m. The field in the mile will include Sam Chelanga of Liberty, the two-time NCAA cross country champion, and Anthony LaMastro of George Mason, seventh in this event during last year's IC4A meet.

VMI will also field a team in the men's 4X800-meter relay.

Following the Hokie Invitational, VMI track and field will be back in action Friday, Jan. 28, as the team travels to Lynchburg, Va. to take part in the Liberty Open. The two-day event is currently scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. Friday and resume Saturday morning.
