Christo Landry Named CAA Runner of the Week

Sophomore Placed Third at Great American Last Weekend

RICHMOND, VA - The Colonial Athletic Association announced today that sophomore Christo Landry (Falls Church, VA) was named Runner of the Week for the week of September 27. Landry paced the Tribe over the weekend at the Great American Festival, placing third in the Nike Race of Champions in 24:12. The team won the race by twelve points over the University of Virginia.

This is the first CAA Runner of the Week honor for Landry, who won all-conference, all-region, and All-America citations as a freshman in 2004. He placed second at the CAA Championships in his first collegiate race, and followed that with a seventh-place performance at the Southeast Regional, where the team gained an automatic qualification to its eighth consecutive NCAA Championship. At the national championship, Landry finished 38th and was named All-American by being one of the top 30 Americans at the race. He was also an NCAA Outdoor Championship qualifier on the track, in the 5,000m race.
