Louisa County junior Javanique Burruss will be one of the state's top returning athletes in 2013. The Group AA star has already won a total of six outdoor state titles including three consecutive long jump state titles. She is currently ranked #8 in the United States entering the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in the long jump, which she finished third at the New Balance Indoor Nationals back in March after leading the competition going into the finals. Not only a long jump specialist with a personal best of 20'1", Burruss has been coming along in the hurdles and triple jump as shown by winning state titles indoors in the 55 hurdles and outdoors in the 100 hurdles and triple jump. MileStat.com interviewed Burruss after winning three state titles last weekend in Harrisonburg.
