Defending Eastern Region champion Audrey Batzel broke 18 minutes for the first time this past Saturday with her third place finishing time of 17:57 at the MileStat.com Invitational to join three other girls in the state who have dipped under the time barrier this fall including MileStat.com Invite race champion Sophie Chase who ran a state leading 5K time of 17:23. Fastest boys' time of the weekend was recorded out in Arkansas by Colonial Forge senior Brian O'Loughlin rolling out a swift time of 15:20 at the Chili Pepper Festival Invitational.

Virginia's top finishers in the Race of Champions at Great American clocked the fastest times so far in Virginia with Albemarle senior Adam Visokay kicking in for a fifth place time of 15:16, while Cave Spring sophomore Katie Fortner made a splash nationally with runner-up 17:35 performance.
