Virginia may have yet another young star from central Virginia. Emily Smeds, who will be a freshman at Fluvanna County next week, is already on our radar thanks to a stellar second leg from her in the Ragged Mt Cup relay race. This year that is especially true with a rare five weekends this month. Here are the meets each weekend that we are excited for and currently planning on covering!
Virginia has definitely had some dynasties in cross country. We've had teams nearly sweep a decade's worth of XC team titles and we've had quite a few teams make NXN and be untouchable on the state level. Out of all those teams on the guys' side we've only ever had one team to put six guys under 16:00 in a single year and that was the 2012 Chantilly team.
This holiday weekend quite a few athletes and over 30 teams will be hitting the hills for what should be an exciting meet both individually and on the team front. On the following pages are virtual meets for both individuals and teams on the boys and girls side. Check them out and see we aren't lying about how close these races will be.
