I just dont see Freeman being at the top of the Region again. They lost alot of talent with Ullrick Smith, #2 500m, #1 400m and 200m, then Michael Quash #1 110mh and 300mh and #2 200, #2 300m and #1 55mh indoor. If you add up their points from the outdoor meet the two of them massed 48 of the teams points...If all four of cosby's short sprinters, Joe Thomas, Anthony Carlie, Mitchell Shiflett, and chris boradnax, plus Andre redd (who doesnt usually run indoor, but could probably win the 500m) they have a good chance of winning. They will just have to do it without the distance points of Mark Merritt this year.

I never said cosby was better than ever1 else. If you look at the topic about the states i was saying were not that good, but when comes to regionals all you need is 50 pts an i believe we can get that or more. Not a cocky statement just thought

you need a little more than 50 points there cosby...Freeman won with 90 in outdoor last year with leedavis in second with 60 and cosby then had like 58 . last indoor freeman won with 76, then matoacoa with 64. Looks like you may need a little more than mitchell's 10-8 points in the 55m...Freeman and atlee will get most of the distance points. I dont see cosby getting any of the distance points.

JRSprinta..u have a point about freemans squad..they will pick up alot of the distance points..but u have to remember that 2 of the main point scorers for cosby were injured at the indoor regional meet last year..matoaca's team has lost too many key guys from their roster to put up even 30 points at the region meet this year..that leaves a big hole for teams like cosby and petersburg

Guys, freeman is still the team to beat they have won the region title in three consectuive seasons, anybody that wins the region has to get past them and with the region title in XC it doesnt look like they are slowing down much

Is Deep Run's team looking good? They had a pretty well rounded team last year so I figured this year they would do well. Maybe I am wrong :D

yea we are a very well rounded team, but we lost a lot of people last year, but we still have people that are going to score big points for us

i agree they are the team to beat but remember a good bit of freemans points came from ulrick smith and michael quash and the relay teams that included both runners

Thats true but their distance should step up and get a lot of points, it really should end up being cosby dominating sprints, freeman dominating distance and whoever gets a little bit more from the other events win. And freemans sprints is better than cosbys distance.

That was an over stratement about freeman distance. I believe there schools from are district that will take distance points away from yall, Midlo, manchester, an maybe jamesriver

dont forget about atlee's ben dejarnette. He'll win which ever event he wants, be it the 1000, 1600, or 3200. Cosby03, you seem to think that the dominion district is the only district with talent.

no i dont think the dominion is the only district, to me the Atlee runner was clear winner but i was talkin about just are district but in the Colonial district there are other teams like maggie walker 4x8 place 4 sec under freeman with a team of all jrs. thats just an example

But after taking a look at the results freeman has lost 2 main distance scores in the 2mile an the 1000 an all of the runner that are coming back run the 1000 sooooo how are they gonna out score us with that???? we got the 300 55, long jump, triple jump , 4x2, an maybe 4x4 an douglass freeman lost there sprinting team like an example there whole 4x4 squad please check the results. im about facts. If freeman wins it becuase of field only like the polevalut. An 1000 meter champ wont be from freeman

It is true that freeman's sprint team has lost a number of good runners, but they should be able to rebuild well under good coaching. Some of these points will hopefully be made up in the distance events and pole vault.

Concerning freeman's distance team, the runners coming back are not all 1000 runners, as 6 of them have broken 4:40 in the mile. Also, freeman will score well in the 1000 with the likes of alec and kyle ward, both of whom had great cross country seasons.

    and dont sleep on atlee

well u just proved me right 1000, 2mile thats 2 events. an atlee could win if Ben dejarnette (i dont think i spelled that right)won all 3 distace events an he got some help from some others, but this is preseason we havent seen any1 run yet. so we dont know

Freemans got three good 1000 runners, one of which was third in the region in xc. We have a good miler/2 miler and another strong 2 miler. Then 7 guys under 4:40 in the mile. Distance has never been able to rack in enough points to win a big meet but we should still have a good 4x4 team which includes some distance guys.
