On Saturday, May 12th, UVA will host an elite, distance-oriented meet on their brand new track that will include a high school 3200 meter race for both boys and girls. The races will be run in the evening and will be set up to hopefully run under 9:00 for boys and under 11:00 for girls. The entry standards are 9:20 and 11:00.

On the boy's side, future Virginia Cavaliers Adam Visokay (8:56 PB), Connor Rog (9:05 PB), and Mike Marsella (4:07/9:13 PBs) have all committed and there has also been interest from two other out-of-state sub 9:00 guys.

Will this be HS sanctioned?

Yup! These two high school races are being added in somewhat last minute, but we're in the process of getting it sanctioned through the NFHS to allow all the out of state kids to compete.

Sounds like a rebirth of 2009's Dream Mile but in a 3200 format. The 2009 Dream Mile was a good event.

@jbbrown14 Rumor has it that this will be the Southern Classic 2 mile and that they will run an unseeded 3200 in Richmond Friday night. This is reportedly to honor Buzz Male who is retiring from track to concentrate on XC. THIS IS UNCONFIRMED!

Is the girls entry time accurate. For the boys you have 9:20 and 9:00 but for the girls you have 11:00 and 11:00. Thanks.

Sorry that was a little confusing with the entry times. Kind of a moot point now though since the races are part of the Southern Track Classic and the top "x" number of times will be accepted. Time Schedule is looking like the two races will be in the 7:30-8:00pm window, followed by the College/Pro 1500s and 5Ks. Entry for this event is now entirely through Milestat via the Southern Track meet page.
