Annandale's Ahmed Bile has been selected to be part of the loaded high school Dream Mile field at the adidas Grand Prix in New York City this upcoming Saturday. Any predictions for what time Bile will run? Bile is currently ranked #8 all-time outdoors in VA high school history for the mile/1600. I believe Bile will be under 4:05 Saturday. I also believe two or three will be under 4:00 on Saturday. Izaic Yorks, Edward Cheserek and Futsum Zeinassellasie will be pushing that 4:00 minute needle; I’m leaning toward Yorks winning the whole enchilada. Yorks has the same running style and body definition that Alan Webb had when he was in High School.

I agree Bile will probably be around 4:05, but I think its highly unlikely multiple runners will go sub 4. It is a full mile, not just a 1600 and there are only 5 high schoolers in the U.S. have ever broken 4:00 so I think it would be an incredible performance for any of the runners in the field to break 4. That being said, there will definitely be some blazing fast times and it should be a great race to watch.

Looking at Yorks graph in Milesplit (wa.milesplit.com/athletes/1135690-izaic-yorks/stats), he has the most room out of all the others; he's still a baby in the 1600/Mile discipline. The two times he ran 4:04, he was out by himself and running negative splits both times (2:04-2:00 - va.milesplit.com/videos/?id=26602 )while Cheserek and company have been pushed pretty hard and fallen short.

Not quite sure if Futsum has the ability/speed to dip under 4. Yorks will come close though. I think Bile runs under 4:05.
