Looking through the hammer results, I see Nick Welihozkiy, West Springfield '99 and Stanford competing for the Golden West Athletics Club. Nick won several state championships in the shot and discus while at West Springfield.

Not exactly part of the Olympic Trials, but rising senior, Sean McGorty of Chantilly is running in an exhibition Mile at 2:45 pm (Pacific time)on Friday at the Olympic Trials as part of the NIKE Elite Running camp, along with nine other boys and ten girls invited to the camp. So proud to have Sean representing VA in this camp, and wish him well in Oregon.

Tonight we can see three former Virginia High School hurdlers in the 400 M Hurdle semi. Brittany Hyter Osbourn Park/Arkansas will be in one heat while high school rivals Tierra Brown will once again race Queen Harrison. Too bad meet record holder Sheena Johnson Gar-Field / UCLA is not competing.
