MILE, 2 MILE TO 1600m, 3200m - DIVIDE BY 1.0058

880 YD, 1M, 2M RELAY TO 800m,1600m, 3200m RELAY - MULTIPLY BY 0.9942

NOTE: ROUND UP ALL HAND TIMES TO THE NEXT HIGHEST TENTH THEN ADD O.24 SECONDS TO CONVERT TO FAT

EXAMPLE: 100m HAND TIME ON WATCH 11.21 = 11.3 + 0.24 = 11.54 FAT

When converting hand times for non-standard events, add 0.24 seconds before using multiplier/divisor

EXAMPLE: 1500 M HAND TIME ON WATCH 4:35.31 = 4:35.4 + 0.24 = 4:35.64 X 1.0737 = 4:55.96 1600 M (FAT)

MEET REGULATIONS AND INFORMATION
-No coaches or spectators will be allowed on the infield at any time !!
-There can be no practices on the Radford Track prior to the State Meet.The
facility may be open briefly on Friday for the timing crew to set up but will not be
open for practice. That is in violation of VHSL rules.
-The awards area will be on the outside of the track in the first floor hallway.
-The F.A.T. System and timing crew is off limits to all coaches. If there is a concern, go to the announcer or bullpen and the proper official will be notified.

Note: This meet will be conducted on a 400 Meter Track. The RADFORD Track has 9 lanes for the straightaway and 8 lanes for all turn races.

AWARDS may be picked up at any time after an athletes final race At 12:00 pm the events will not be on a set time schedule. Athletes will need to report to the bullpen by second call.

Note: We are not running trials in any running event. All running events are FINAL EVENTS. There will still be preliminaries and finals in the field events

Entry Deadline: All schools should carefully check their entries and turn one copy into the regional meet director before leaving the meet - and keep one copy for their files. All entries must be on entry sheets.

Important: Confirmation of Entries - Read Carefully!! A performance list will be published and sent out to Regional directors and Milestat. Please check for mistakes and spelling. Make scratches by Tuesday, May 29 if possible. You may still scratch on Saturday with no penalty in any event but you must still have followed the entry limitation. No additions can be made after the entries are received and confirmed.

Important: General Rules of Field Events - National Federation Track and Field Rule Book - This rule
will be followed at State Championships. A contestant shall be charged with an unsuccessful attempt if the contestant does not initiate a trial that is carried to completion, or pass it within 1 minute after being called for a trial, unless excused by the event judge to participate in some other event . Awards: Presentation of team trophies, 1st, 2nd and 3rd, will be made at the conclusion of the meet. Individual medals 1 - 8 can be picked up after each event in the awards area as events are finished and places are tabulated. Coaches are responsible for picking up awards.

Eligible To State Meet: Entries may be only those contestants who placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th in a Regional Meet or those contestants who were properly reported by the district or regional meet director as having met the state qualifying standards in the District or Regional Championship (trials or finals) or at a sanctioned meet of 10 schools or more. Each relay team must place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the Regional Meet or have met the qualifying standards in the District or Regional Championship Meet (trials and finals) or at a sanctioned meet of 10 schools or more.

Coaches Meeting: The Coaches Meeting is at 9:00 a.m. Location TBA. Announcements will be made relative to meet administration. Packets including meet programs, competitors numbers and heat sheets can be obtained when coaches arrive. Shot and Discus: Shots and discuses will be certified at 9:15 a.m. at the shot area. Shots and discuses that do not meet rules specifications will be impounded and can be picked up when the competition is over.

Equipment: Each team must furnish its own towels, discuses, shots and batons. Only starting blocks furnished by Radford can be used. Each contestant must wear a school uniform, which shall consist of a Jersey (with number provided by VHSL), trunks and shoes. (Follow rulebook specifications).

Shoes - Important: Contestants can wear 1/4" or shorter spikes but flats are adequate on the Radford Track.

Showers: Locker rooms and showers will not be available. Teams must make their own arrangements for changing clothes.

Trainer: A certified trainer will be available throughout the meet.

Participants Limits: A contestant may compete in any number of field events but shall be limited to participation in only 3 running events, except that a contestant who takes part in the 3200 meter run may compete in only one other running event. If a contestant is entered in a field event which conflicts in the time schedule with a track event in which she/he is entered, the contestant shall make advance arrangements with the official in charge of the field event to postpone his/her trials until after the track events have been run. No track event will be held up to accommodate a contestant competing in a field event .No event in the meet will be held up to accommodate a contestant competing in another event.

Admissions: $10.00 adults and students. Children under 6 years old accompanied by paying adult admitted free. Participants will need competitors numbers for admission. Each school packet will contain 2 VHSL nametags to be used for admission. Principals, trainers, athletic directors, and coaches ID cards will be honored for one admission. Honored Guest Passes are good for 2 admissions.

Facility: The Radford outdoor track is a 400-meter track. The 400 dash and 400 relay will be run in lanes all the way. The 800 Meter will be run in sections on time with a one-turn stagger (same as 2010). 1600 Meter Relay (Three turn stagger. First runner will remain in lane, the second runner will remain in lane until completion of one full turn.)
