VHSL Group 3A West Regional XC Championships 2013

Abingdon junior Audra Yarber qualified for the state meet with a 11th place finish of 19:32 at Panorama Farms in the 3A West Regional Meet.

Waynesboro senior Devin Kestner qualified for the state meet with a sixth place finish of 16:19 (PR) at Panorama Farms in the 3A West Regional Meet.

Rockbridge County senior Laurel Sheffield qualified for the state meet with a 12th place finish of 19:35 at Panorama Farms in the 3A West Regional Meet.

Many of the former top programs in the old Group AA classification find themselves in the new Group 3A West Region, which hosts its regional championship meet on Tuesday to kick off regional week. Regular cross country powerhouses such as Blacksburg, Western Albemarle, and Hidden Valley get to match up prior to the state championships, which could see all three on the podium together on November 16th at Great Meadow. Blacksburg and Hidden Valley girls were familiar foes in the old Region IV, while Western Albemarle now joins them as a new regional rival after spending years in Region II. 

Virtual meet previews for all 12 VHSL regional meets this week in Virginia. The top 6 teams and top 10 individuals from the non-advancing teams will qualify for the state meet in their regional races.
