January 3rd - MileStat.com Press ReleaseRICHMOND, VA -- Only one month away from today, the first annual St. Christopher's Mid-Atlantic Track Clash will be hosted on Saturday, February 3rd in Richmond, Virginia. This exciting new event will bring together elite open and college competition as well as elite high school competition in a finals only format. MileStat.com is supporting the event along with the Richmond Sports Backers, the University of Richmond, and St. Christopher's School.
Several colleges have expressed interest to compete in the event already including George Mason, Georgetown, Richmond, Virginia, and VCU with other schools expected to send athletes as well. The college events will also have a sprinkling of top open athletes as both mile races will feature a $1,000 bounty to the first open individual who breaks 4 minutes in the men's mile or 4:40 in the women's mile
The high school field is expected to be of very high caliber with many of the state's top athletes vying to be selected in the very compact and selective field with section only finals. Personal invitations will be sent out within the next week to top individuals and relays, but all hopeful and invited entries in the high school events are requested to register online at directathletics.com prior to the Monday, January 22nd deadline at noon. A selection committee will rank and accept the top entries for each event and all coaches will be notified of the status of their entries on Wednesday, January as well as being posted on MileStat.com.
It is a reminder that there will be no field events and only running events at the Track Clash. The infield area of the track will have stands to make for an even livlier and exciting atmosphere for athletes competing on St. Christopher's premier track and field facility.

The field house at St. Christopher's School features one of the premier indoor track & field facilities in the state of Virginia. The dual durometer track designed by Beynon Sports Surfaces is an exeptionally fast, yet forgiving surface that promotes great performances and competitive racing. The facility includes 8-lane straightaways and a 6-lane 200m oval with a large radius designed for speed.
