THE BRADDOCK RELAYS
September 17th, 2016- Under the Lights

Last years race was a blast!!! Come join us for the 2016 version. We have made a few tweeks to the schedule at the request of some of the teams. NOTE: LATER START TIME! You will have time for family and still get to see a great Cross Country meet! The relay format really promotes a fun/team oriented atmosphere. THE ENTIRE COURSE WILL BE LIT!!! The races will be run on campus at Lake Braddock Secondary 9200 Burke Lake Rd., Burke, Va 22015. We will have a DJ playing music throughout and give-aways!

We will be limiting the field to 25 schools. Reserve your spot now.

The race will be run on multiple surfaces with some hills. (Flats recommended over spikes) Each runner will run a 2500 meter loop. The course is quite spectator friendly.

WHAT: 5x2500 meter relay. Each school enters teams of 5 runners. Each runner runs a 2500 meter leg and then hands off the baton to their teammate.

WHEN: Saturday September 17th, 2016

WHY: It is a fresh break from the traditional CC format.

COST: $200/school -- unlimited entrants.

SEND ENTRY FORM WITH NUMBERS BY SEPTEMBER 12th.

MISCELLANEOUS: Each school may enter a men's and women's A, B, C (the 'A' team should be your top 5 runners.....the 'B' team is your runners #6-10 etc...). Please keep your best kids on the appropriate relay. Any additional runners on your team can compete in the open 2500 meter Extras Races.

Spectators: $5.00 entry fee at the entrance to the facility.

Entry Fees for Open and Youth races included with your admission fee.

You can pre-register for the Open and Youth races online in the fall. You can also enter on the day of the race at the Lake Braddock Secondary School Track.

AWARDS: Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top three men's and women's 'A' relay teams. The top 15 Men and Women in the Extras Races will receive medals.

TEAM AWARDS: We will award an overall men's and women's team champion based on team performance in 3 relays A, B, & C. A first place team finish in a relay race receives 5 pts, 2nd place receives 4 pts, 3rd place receives 3 pts., 4th place receives 2 pts, and 5th place receives 1 pt. The highest possible team score will be 15 points (3-1st place finishes). Tie Breaker is place in the A race.

Any team that wins an A, B, or C race receives a free entry into the 2017 Braddock Relays!!!
