CHARLES B. GORDON INVITATIONAL will honor long-time Freeman cross country and track coach Charlie Gordon.
Coaches,
We are pleased to invite you to compete in the 5th Annual Charles B. Gordon Invitational. We would like to point out a few things that can make our meet attractive to your program. We allow 5 entries in each running event and allow teams to run a B relay. For the field events, we allow 3 per event. We will cap the meet at 20 teams so that we can start and finish at a reasonable time. Once all entries have been received, we will set a time schedule that we will stick to. We will not get more than 5 minutes ahead of the final time schedule and we will not get behind. Your athletes will know when to warm-up and check-in and their parents will know when their athlete is going to race. The final time schedule will be posted to this site once all entries have closed. We give plaques to the winner of each event and medals to 2nd and 3rd place. Below is the order of events. We will post a final time schedule after entries have closed. Please send an email to bmreutinger@henrico.k12.va.us to reserve your spot.

Facilities: WILLIAM E. LONG STADIUM has an 8-lane 400 meter 1/2" depth all-weather surface. High jump, pole vault, and horizontal jump surfaces are also all-weather. Throwing circles are depressed-pad concrete. The facility has served as the host site for the Colonial and Capital District Championships as well as numerous state qualifying meets.

ENTRY FEE: $150 per gender or $250 for boys and girls. The meet is limited to a maximum of 20 teams. To reserve your spot, please send an email to bmreutinger@henrico.k12.va.us

ENTRY LIMITS
5 entries in lane events
5 entries in distance events
2 relay teams per gender/per event
3 entries in field events

ENTRY PROCEDURE
All entries must be done online via the Milestat system

COMPETITION PROCEDURE
Starting heights for high jump and pole vault will be set when entries are complete
Long jump/triple jump - 3 attempts
Shot put/ discus - 3 attempts
100m Dash-prelims and top 8 advance to final
All other races girls followed by boys, seeded sections slow to fast

AWARDS
For individual events, the winner will receive a plaque and the 2nd and 3rd Place finisher will receive a medal. For the relays, the entire winning relay team will receive a plaque.

CONCESSIONS
Concession stand will be open throughout the meet.

ADMISSION
$5.00 per person, children under 6 admitted free. Athlete admission will be by team uniform.

PARKING
All bus and spectator parking in the student parking lot located at the intersection of Three Chopt and Camden Roads.
