Meet Information
This is a try-meet featuring the Spotsylvania Knights, the Eastern View Cyclones and the hosts, the Orange County Hornets.
Schedule: If the total runners seems small enough to run all the boys and girls at once, we will.
5:00 p.m. Varsity Girls (Limit 8 runners)
5:45 p.m. Varsity Boys (Limit 8 runners)
6:15 p.m. Open Boys and Girls (unlimited--8th graders welcome)
The race will start in the infield of the Steeple Chase course on the grounds of James Madison's Montpelier. After you pass through the entrance area and then pass through the first intersection on the grounds you will see the starting area on the left. We have a nice area to set up tents. There is plenty of parking. The course is fast and a really nice (interesting and pretty) run for the harriers, however it is not spectator friendly. It is difficult to see the start and/or finish if you want to see the racers at other times during the race. The first mile is through fields, the second mile is a wooded loop, the third mile returns along the same path as the first mile (though, in the reverse direction). If the weather is nice, you can definitely run a PR here.
