Valley District XC Championships
Hosted by Fort Defiance High School at Mt. Airy Course, Verona

The top 3 teams plus the top 5 runners exclusive of the three teams advance to the 3A West Championships to be run on November 2nd, 2017 at the Virginia Horse Center (hosted by Rockbridge County High School).
Team championship trophy and medals to the top fifteen. Awards will take place at the pavilion in the Rescue Training area.
You are allowed to enter ten runners but can only race seven in the championship race. There will be an open race for coaches wishing to run any athletes not competing in the championship races.
Boys and girls will run together in the open race and coaches should time their own runners. We will attempt to time the open race but first priority is the championship races.
Registration is through www.milestat.com. You must also email your VHSL Conference entry form to David Stewart at fdhstrack@yahoo.com by Friday, October 20th 6:30 pm. Please enter all athletes that will be running on milestat.com including alternates and open race athletes. Only the 10 athletes listed on your VHSL Conference entry form will be eligible to run in the championship race. 8th graders may participate in the open/JV race.

Directions to Mt. Airy Course (FDHS home course)
From the North: Take I-81 South to Exit 227 (Verona). Merge right onto Laurel Hill Rd. Travel approx. 8/10 mile and turn left onto Lee Hwy/US-11 South. Travel approx.. 1.4 miles and turn left onto Technology Drive Follow Technology Drive for approx.. mile. Parking will be on the left at the Augusta Fire and Rescue Training Center.
From the South: Take I-81 North to Exit 225 (Woodrow Wilson Pkwy), turn left onto VA-262/Woodrow Wilson Pkwy. Travel approx.. 1.5 miles, turn right onto US-11 North. Travel approx.. .5 miles and turn right at stoplight onto Technology Drive. Follow Technology Drive for approx.. mile. Parking will be on the left at the Augusta Fire and Rescue Training Center.
Spectator cost: The district charges $5.00 per person (payable as cars/ spectators enter parking lot).
There is to be NO curb parking on Technology Drive.
Restroom facilities -- located at the Training Center. A porta-potty will be available for athletes closer to the course.
Timing will be done by Runroanoke.com
Official results will be available on-line and will also be posted on Milestat.com.
Regional entrees are due October 29th at 11:59pm.
