Cougar Middle School Invitational
High School is pleased to announce the Inaugural Cougar Middle School
Invitational to be held at Burton Field attached to Covington High School.

6th 7th and 8th grade students are allowed to participate.
Each school is allowed three
entries per event. Only one relay per event per team will be allowed. VHSL
rules regarding event limitations will apply. All athletes must belong to their
school team and must be accompanied by a coach from that school. Entries are
due by Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 at midnight.Entries should be done on Milestat.If you need directions I can send those to you.
FYI:We are limiting the meet to 10-12 teams as we
have a pretty small venue to seat spectatorsIf there are several schools enter who only have a limited number of
entrants, I will expand the number. Please confirm with Coach Sullins before
entering anyone online.

There will be an admission
fee of $5 for all spectators. Children under 10 are free.
advised we don't have a ton of seating so you should bring chairs if possible.
Also, please make parents aware that there are
several areas where people like to set behind the fence.The spectator fee covers the entire facility.

Buses should drop athletes
off at the field by the high school and then park at the football field.
The first 3 places will
receive medal, 4th-6th will receive ribbons.
The first and second place
teams will receive a trophy.
The first six places will
score. The standard point distribution of 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 in each event will
count towards the overall team score.
All Running Events are
We will run slowest to fastest
300 Hurdle height will be 30
for both boys and girls.
All field events are finals.
Long jump/Triple jump will receive 4 jumps.
Field event seeding will be
least to greatest.
The five-alive will be used
if more than 10 jumpers.
All throwers will be given
four (4) measured throws.
All implements thrown will
be in-house. You may warm up with your own implement.
Boys/Girls Shot weight- 4K
Boys/Girls Discus- 1K
Spikes no longer then inch
will be allowed. Immediate disqualification will result if longer spikes are
used. Coaches, please help us with this!
There will be a concession stand for all student-athletes, parents, spectators.
We must have 6 teams committed by April 11th to have the meet.
