The coaches meeting will be held at South County on Monday, May 14, 2018at 6:00pm.

ENTRIES:All Varsity teams in the Patriot District

ROSTERS: Each competingschool must submit their entries on Milestat by Sunday, May 13, 2018

DETERMINATION OFDISTRICT CHAMPIONS

The tournament winner will be declared the District Champion.

AWARDS: Championship Team Trophies- Medals forfirst-sixth places for individuals, and first -third places for relays.Duplicate awards for ties.

ADMISSION:General Admission:$6.00 for Adults/$5.00 for students with an ID

Complimentary:

Tickets accepted only from those schools competing.Schools participating may issue complimentary

tickets to faculty and staff.

Passes:VHSL, Regional Administrative, and working PRESS passes will be

honored.Coaches' families may use

passes.

GENERAL:

DEADLINE: All entries must be submitted to Milestat by 7:00pm on Sunday May 14,

2018


SCORING: 10-8-6-4-2-1 for all events

ENTRIES: Each Patriot District school may enter three (3)

individuals in each event without regard to meeting the district standards. If

a school wishes to enter more than three (3) individuals in any event, all

entries in that event must have met the standard in a regularly scheduled meet.

Times made in relays (splits) do not qualify for individual events.

EVENT LIMITATION: In one meet, a competitor may compete in any number of field events,but will be limited to participation in only three running events, except acontestant who competes in the 3200 meter run may compete in only one otherrunning event that day.

STANDARDS: SEE ATTACHED

REPORTING: Each contestant in a running event will report to the clerk of the course by the third call.

EVENTS: Each contestant in a field event will report to the field event official by final call.

Failure to report by third/final call will result in disqualification from the event.

CALL FOR First call - 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the event

Second call - 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the event

Third call - 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the event

SCRATCHES: Scratches following the scratch meeting or no shows for an event will not disqualify an athlete from future events, but will count towards the athlete's total number of running events. When a contestant, who

has qualified for the finals from a preliminary event, withdraws from competition, no substitute may replace that contestant. No event in the meet is to be delayed because a participant is engaged in another event. No track event

will be delayed to accommodate a contestant competing in a field event.


RULES: _2018 edition National Federation Rule Book and the 2017-2018 edition of the VHSL

Handbook.


TRAINER: A Certified Athletic Trainer will be present.

TRACK: 400 Meter Track. 1/4 " spikes may be worn. No other spikes. Adjustable starting blocks will be provided. DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN BLOCKS. Events below 400 meters will be run in lanes. 4x400 Meter relay will have a three turn stagger. Pole vault, long jump, triple jump and high jump are the same surface as the track. Shot and discus circles are concrete.

EQUIPMENT: Each school will furnish its own baton, shot, discus, vaulting poles. Please keep shots and discs out of the bleachers.

UNIFORMS: Athletes will conform to all uniform rules. It is the responsibility of the coaches and athletes to make sure that they are compliant. Competitors in the 800, 1600 and 3200, along with the 3200 relay will wear competitor number on the front of their uniform. All other running events, along with the shot, discus, long jump and triple jump will wear competitor numbers on the back of the jersey. High jump and pole vault will show their number to the field event official but are not required to wear the number.



COMPETITOR NUMBERS: Competitor numbers will be distributed to the coaches at the scratch meeting.

COMPETITION AREAS: Only competitors may be in the area of competition. Coaches in designated areas only.

IMPLEMENTS: Will be weighed by the head field event judge.

POLE VAULTERS: Will be weighed by the head field event judge.



FIELD EVENTS: 3 jumps or throws in the trials with the top 7 (plus ties) advancing to finals and earning 3 additional attempts. High jump and pole vault will use five alive method.

ADVANCEMENT: Heat winner and the next fastest times as determined at the coaches meeting on May 14, 2018.
