Norfolk Academy XC Meet #3 2008

Norfolk, VA

Meet Information

In the boys race Brendan Leavitt(Norfolk Collegiate), raced out to a huge lead going through the first mile in under 4:45 and the 2nd mile at 9:47. He, however, made a wrong turn with about 1000M to go and cut a significant portion of the course off and was disqualified. Norfolk Collegiate ran very well and managed to survive their top runner being disqualified to win the meet over Trinity who was also without their top runner. Third was Norfolk Academy, and Bishop Sulivan, just two days off the State Catholic Championships, was fourth. With Leavitt disqualified Trinity took 1st and 2nd place with Guy Shelby(16:40) and Ian Trebour(16:45). Norfolk Collegiate's top two runners, Trey O'Brien and Elliot Nuss, were also under 17.

In the girls race Trinity's Barbara Stehler smashed the existing course record with a 17:39. In a preview of next Friday's TCIS individual matchup Norfolk Academy's Anna Blackwood(18:47) came from 40M behind at the 2 mile mark to run away from Bishop Sullivan's Taryn Schrader(19:01) over the last mile for 2nd place. Norfolk Academy once again got good races out of its top three, putting all of them in the top 5, and won by a margin of 14 over second place Trinity. Bishop Sullivan was third.
