Virginia State Open Championship 2003

The First Annual Virginia State Open Cross Country Championships

This is the first time that Virginia will hold a meet to really determine the fastest high school cross country runners and best cross country teams in the state!

Qualifying Standards: The Top 50 fastest overall combined times of the day at the A, AA, AAA races of the public school meet over the Great Meadows course will automatically qualify (fastest 50 boy's and fastest 50 girl's times of the day). The overall A, AA, and AAA individual Boy's and Girl's champions will automatically qualify. The A, AA, and AAA team champions will automatically qualify. The top 20 boy's and top 20 girl's times at The Private School Championship meet will automatically qualify, as will the Boy's and Girl's Champion teams. We will then select a total of six more "at large" teams. Therefore we will have a total of 10 boy's teams and 10 girl's teams, who will vie for the title of "State Open Team Champions". Two races total to determine the very best individuals and teams in the state!

So, mark your calendards for November 15th and start getting your teams fired up to be on the starting line for this special meet!
