VA Indoor Week #2 in Review MileSplit Staff Dec 13, 2009

The CNU Winter Frolic this past weekend in Newport News saw quite a few of the state's top athletes open up their indoor season against solid competition on a quality 200 meter track. As a result, many early state leading performances (Boys - Girls) were produced as well as some times and marks to place on the national leaderboard (Boys - Girls). Notable performances included  a near 56 foot toss by Sulaiman Fareed of Highland Springs in the shot put, a swift 7.04 clocking by defending AAA state champion Keilah Tyson in the 55 meter dash, an automatic state qualifier 4x800 time of 9:37 by the West Potomac girls, an impressive 1:42 posted on a flat track by the Western Branch girls 4x200, and Dinwiddie's Quintaze Jackson reaching out to a nation's best 46'11.25" triple jump. More to come from CNU and indoor meets this past week and weekend.
