W&M Invite: Dewey outduels Patterson, Robbins remains unbeaten MileSplit Staff Oct 2, 2004

The William & Mary Invitational was suppose to be a preview showing of the AAA state girls' race with the state's top three ranked runners in the state: #1 ranked Aurora Scott of Western Branch, #2 ranked Melissa Dewey of Hayfield, #3 ranked Amanda Patterson of Midlothian. However, Scott was a no show leaving a two way battle between Dewey and Patterson to decide to the top harrier on the day. Traditionally held on Eastern State Hospital's 3.05 mile course, this year's William & Mary Invite was once again held on a shortened course of 2.85 miles.

Team Seedings for the 2004 William and Mary High School Cross Country Invitational are now online. They can be viewed clicking here (best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer). Other information regarding the meet can be accessed at the 2004 W&M High School XC Invitational Information Center. The meet, held on the grounds of Eastern State Hospital, begins at 9:00 a.m. this Saturday, October 2.
