As expected, Jefferson Forest’s girls cross country team ran away with the Seminole District championships, hosted by E.C. Glass on Thursday at the Presbyterian Homes’ 3.1-mile course. JF’s first six runners finished in the top nine for a 22-point team score, distancing themselves from runner-up Brookville (57) and the third-place Hilltoppers (75). Rustburg earned the fourth and final team qualification to Tuesday’s Region III meet, hosted by Turner Ashby at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds, starting at noon. (via The News & Advance)
