The second annual Leslie Sherman Invitational, an event created remembering the former West Springfield runner who was tragically killed in the Virginia Tech shootings several years ago, was held on Thursday as a meet opportunity for Northern Region schools with athletes still in town during spring break to compete. The meet produced a state leading time in the 800 meter run from West Potomac junior Sarah Jane Underwood (pictured above by Dave Watt), who rocked a time of 2:13.45.
