Saxon Track Classic 2002

McLean, VA
Hosted by Langley

Meet Information

Dear Coaches,

Langley is proud to be holding their 5th Annual Saxon Classic this year. There was some debate on the date of the meet, due to a rather packed schedule in the region. We opted for a May 4th date due to the exclusivity of the T.C. Williams Invitational, and the black hole of time known as the Draper Invitational. Please note that the meet format has changed (now featuring 5 frosh events) and the Varsity start time has been pushed back to help accommodate those students taking the SATs that day. Langley is a testing center which can help make sure that all of your athletes can compete. We are hoping to keep the number of teams in attendance between 15 and 20. We hope you can make it, The Langley Coaching Staff General Info Frosh LJ and SP start at 10am 2 jumps/throws each. Open pit for the jumps. Varsity Field events start at 10:30 Men's discus, women's shot, women's triple, men's long and women's pole vault first. Frosh Running events start at 11am. Varsity Running events start at 12:30. Frosh events include: 1600m, 200m, co-ed 4x400 relay, Long jump and Shotput (additional frosh event(s) may be added depending on interest and number of teams entered in the meet) There will be medals for the top 6 in all individual events and relays. Team trophy for overall frosh team winner. 1st and 2nd place trophies for Varsity events. Award for the athlete of the meet voted on by the coaches. Normal running event order for the Varsity events, but the co-ed frosh 4x400 will be run between the varsity mile and 4x100 events. For individuals taking the SATs that Saturday, Langley is a testing center (school code is 471-393) Varsity running events do start at 12:30. There will be SAT flights for the LJ, TJ, SP and Discus (limit one SAT flight entry per school, per gender, per event) There will be no SAT flights for the high jump and the pole vault. Each school is allowed 3 entries per event. T-shirts will be sold at a cost of $10 for short sleeves. Entry fee for both teams is $125. Single sex teams $65. Individuals $10.
