The William Byrd boys captured their second back-to-back outdoor track district title May 16th, at Lord Botetourt HS. Byrd scored 157 points in a close scoring battle with Northside HS. The William Byrd boys captured their first ever indoor track district title February 14, at Lynchburg College. In their resounding victory Byrd scored 195 points, nearly doubling Alleghany's second place score of 99 points. Congratulations to the boy's cross country team on their first Blue Ridge District title since 1993. The terriers were lead by Caleb Kingery, Byron Hart, and Kyle O'Conor. Byrd had six runners finish top 15 and receive all-district honors on a difficult course with less then ideal conditions. Congrats to Aj for throwing a monster throw of 49 feet this past weekend at the liberty Xmas meet. Aj threw 6 times all of his throws were over 45 feet. I'm pretty sure that is a new school record! Keep up the good work "big A"

Great job with the site. I"m a former Terrier from class of 1986 and like to keep up with the Byrd program. Thanks Coach Royal for bringing it back to prominance.
