A steady rain as well as a downpour at times made the 2013 Braddock Relays a soaking event, but an exciting and fun event with the 4 relay races and additional extra and open races thanks to competitors, spectators, and meet workers that seemed to embrace the elements with great enthusiasm and few complaints. The James W. Robinson boys and Lake Braddock girls were not at full strength in their last major race at Monroe Parker Invite with John Tolbert dropping out for the pre-sesaon #1 ranked Robinson boys, while Katie Roche did not race for the returning 2012 Group AAA state champions. When near or at full strength as shown in the championship "A" relay team races on Saturday night on the 2513 meter loop course at Lake Braddock High School by stretching out to huge margin of victories , James Robinson and Lake Braddock could be the state's best cross country programs this fall.
