FREDRICKSBURG, VA -- James Wood boys proved why they are favored to repeat as the AA state champions by placing their entire top 5 in the first 12 spots at the Chancellor Invitational at Loriella Park to win with 27 points (Massaponax 2nd 85 pts). James Printz led the way for the Colonels by winning the individual race in a time of 16:52 over Massaponax's Michael Disilvestro (17:04). The Brooke Point girls were equally as dominating with their 30 point total as the Lady Hawks had 47 second spread between their #1-5 runners with Brittany Copeland (4th, 21:57), Tina Dilegge (5th, 22:18), Liz Nowell (6th, 22:22), Jessica Hoppe (7th, 22:30), and Christina Davis (8th, 22:44). James Wood's Stephanie Shenk (21:03) defeated defending race champion Beth Mahalak (3rd, 21:45) to take the individual title honors, while Culpeper freshmen Rachel Hyde (21:37) slipped into second place.
