MileStat.com AOW Boys Winner: Predist Walker

At last Friday night\'s University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Coach O Invitational in Princess Anne, Maryland, Lakeland senior tallied two victories and one runner-up performance to earn AOW honors. One of Predist Walker\'s wins turned out to be a state leading mark with a personal best jump of 22\'5.50\" in the long jump. Walker had a previous best of 22\'2\" from outdoors. In the triple jump, Walker finished second with a mark of 44\'0\" and won the 60 meter hurdles in 8.33. The versatile Walker is now ranked first in the state in the long jump, fifth in the 55 meter hurdles, and tenth in the triple jump.

MileStat.com AOW Girls Winner: Anne Marie Gordon

Virginia\'s greatest female high school pole vaulter graduated last spring with Western Albemarle\'s Ashley Early moving onto college at Virginia Tech. Early is the only high school vaulter to have ever cleared over 12 feet in Virginia, but the way that Mills Godwin senior Anne Marie Gordon has been vaulting early into this season, the state record holder in the event may have company in the over 12 feet club. Gordon cleared a new personal best of 11\'9\" in the pole vault at Saturday\'s Keydet Invitational to win the event and set a new facility and meet record. Gordon\'s previous best in the event was 11\'7.25\" from last March\'s National Scholastic Indoor Championships as she finished 11th in the indoor national meet. Gordon hopes to not only earn her first All-American honors in the event this season, but reclaim her state title in AAA after winning indoors in 2005 and taking second in 2006 to now graduated Nicole Kazuba of Chantilly.
