FUMA boys roll in distance races at Friday night St. Chris meet

RICHMOND, VA -- The Fork Union boys showed a glimmer of the performances they are capable of on a fast track on Friday night at a quad meet hosted at St. Christopher\'s School in Richmond. Their top four distance runners each won a race with Axel Mostrag in the 3200 meter run, Szymon Rola in the 1600 meter run, Jamie Reichlen in the 1000 meter run, and Jeremy Haney in the 1000 meter run.

Mostrag, coming off his 4:17 meter meet and facility record breaking performance in the 1600 meter run at last weekend\'s Fork Union Invitational, showed his range by clocking a personal best 3200 meter time of 9:29.93. The Fork Union senior won in a virtually solo effort as he finished 36 seconds ahead of the next finisher in Matthew Richardson of Collegiate (10:05).

Meanwhile, Polish buddy Szymon Rola also had a runaway victory at St. Christopher\'s in posting a personal best time of 4:23.01 to finish 18 seconds ahead of teammate David Johnson (2nd, 4:41.01). Rola\'s time hints at a strong possibility of Fork Union coach Winston Brown having two sub 4:20 milers on his squad soon than later.

Coach Brown already has three proven sub 2:00 800 meter runners and sub 2:40 1000 meter runners with Mostrag, Rola, and senior Jamie Reichlen. Reichlen cruised to a 2:39.55 victory in the 1000 meter run on Friday evening.

The more long distance geared of the bunch at Fork Union in Jeremy Haney, showed some wheels in a 500 meter dash win of 1:10.69.
