The Virginia state record holder in the 100 (10.31) and 200 (20.64) meter dash, Mustaqeem Williams of Forest Park High School (Woodbridge, VA), is also a two sport star in football which his year around involvement in sports has kept him on the straight and successful path. That route guided by athletics has given him a great opportunity at the next level as he plans to run collegiately for Florida State University starting next year and be the first male in his family to attend and receive education at a four year college. Being uncatchable on the football field is how Mustaqeem discovered and was pulled to track & field in middle school.
Despite growing up without a father in his life, Williams has continued to overcome obstacles along the way to help develop himself not only into a stronger and faster athlete as one of the country's elite high school sprinters, but a better young man to get him to this point into his final few months of high school. A nine-time Virginia high school state champion, Williams is determined to help his school win their third straight state track team title in June and add to his total career haul of individual state wins into the double digit range before he graduates.
