Salute To Seniors: Molly Novak

Molly's Athlete Profile

What was your most memorable race/competition?

My most memorable race was the 2012 AAA State Indoor 4x400. My teammates and I had to win the race (for point reasons) in order to defeat Western Branch for the girls team title….we won :)

Where did you face your biggest competition? or What was your favorite meet and why?

My biggest competition was at my own high school, Cosby. Racing with my teammate Alex Moseley since the 8th grade truly made me faster and more competitive.

If you could, what would you do differently with your high school running career?

Probably run more 800’s

Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?

2012 4x400 AAA Indoor State Champs and 2012 NBN Outdoor National Champs in the SMR

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

The will to come back and work harder after a bad race or disappointing season.

What was your most difficult workout?

The dreaded 600, 400, 200 ladder.

What will you miss the most?

Seeing my teammates in the halls and trying to guess our workouts, as well as all of our jokes and impressions of our coaches.

Have you ever been on the front page of milestat before?
Yes! 3x in the background of some races.

What are your plans for college?

I will be running for Cornell University.

What is your advice for an incoming freshman running/competing in the same events as you did?

Don’t back down when it starts to hurt aka the last 100 in the 400.

Shout Outs?

I’d like to give a shoutout to Michael Kokal and Julia Logan, gonna miss them a ton next year. And also to the best track dad I know and my boyfriend Tommy Mulroy.
